1st Place Winners!

We are so proud of our parents and students who helped create a prize-winning float for the 2nd year in a row. St Pat's float in the Portsmouth Holiday Parade was awarded 1st place for the Non-Profit category.

We would like to especially recognize and thank the Parent Guild for their work on creating a beautiful float and organizing the event for the families. We thank Ricci Lumber for their sponsorship as well.

Diabetes Destroyers

Drew Leahy, along with his 4th grade class and honorary members, Ms. Dwyer and Mrs. Lena, and several parents, walked in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Walk For a Cure on Sunday, September 26, 2010.

The team, Drew's Diabetes Destroyers, raised nearly $3000 for a cure.  The team also won a contest for having the most "friends of the walker" walking and received a $250.00 gift certificate to Best Buy.

Drew presented the gift certificate and t-shirt to Sister Mary Jo at the school assembly on Friday, October 1st.

We all enjoyed a wonderful day and the kids' hard work was truly impressive!  Thank you for all the support!

St. Patrick School Alumni Top Area High School Classes

PORTSMOUTH, NH, 8/3/2010 - Seacoast area high schools recently announced the top students of their 2010 graduating classes. Saint Patrick School was well represented, with eight students, or 40% of the St. Pats graduating Class of 2006, among the top students in area high schools. Clarisse Benoit was the Valedictorian at Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in Dover, New Hampshire, with Allison Dennett and Shaylagh McCole also among the top ten students. Sarah Ward also graduated in the top 10% of the class at St. Thomas. Isabella Connelly was named Salutatorian at Marshwood High School. At Portsmouth High School, Summer Spiller graduated with Highest Honors and Alyxandra Barnes and Kevin Dwyer graduated with Honors. Some of the colleges these students plan on attending next year include Brown University, Dartmouth College, Tufts University and Wheaton College.
Commenting on the importance of Saint Patrick School in her success in high school, Clarisse Benoit said, “The strong foundation I received at St. Pat’s was a major factor in my success at St. Thomas. I was well-prepared to be organized, work hard and take advantage of all that St. Thomas had to offer. The teachers I had at St. Pats in 7th and 8th grade not only guided me to do well in academics, but also taught me through their example what it means to live out my faith in my life.”
Principal Sister Mary Joan Walsh added, “On behalf of the entire Saint Patrick School community, congratulations to the St. Pat’s Class of 2006 on their great success in high school. May God continue to bless you in college and the future.”
